Decadence 4 (June Brides and Vestal Virgins) |

Hello Darlings, Hot off the presses, here is my full report on June Brides, the 4th in our series of Decadence parties, held in the discreet and comfortable surroundings, provided at our Northampton country home and garden. Guests began arriving during the afternoon - for once I was actually dressed (in hot pants ! Well I still had work to do, putting up all the props in the garden, for instance, as well as helping Debs with the laying out of food) Debbie's daughter Danielle and her friend Saorse (pronounced Sersha) not only attended as bridesmaids for the event, but also helped with a lot of the work involved in staging this FABULOUS event. As ALWAYS Debbie's buffet was SPECTACULAR. On offer were: Smoked salmon blinis with sour cream and caviar Tiger prawns with a lemon crème fraiche dressing Thai Chicken pieces, lemon pepper chicken, spicy chicken, Chicken Wellington parcels Fresh home baked sliced turkey Prawns in filo pastry There were vol-au-vents with chicken or mushrooms in a creamy white wine sauce Prawns in a hot chilli sauce Breadsticks and dips Cocktail sausages Canapés (cheese-and-pineapple-on-a-stick) To follow there was strawberry pavlovas and cream, and of COURSE…. |
